The Hospital
400 bedded acute plus 6 community hospitals.
Full services either locally (ICU/A&E/SCBU/orthopaedics) for 60+consultant staff) or visiting consultants (plastics/dermatology etc) from Exeter.
Satellite dialysis unit.
The Department
600-700 specimens daily, MasterLab computer, Olympus 640 analysers (x2) DPC Immunoassay (X2) Menarini GHb HPLC, DOAs/androgens and all immunology requests (AIPs etc) are referred to Southmead. POCT for blood gas analysers on ICU/SCBU and A&E and glucometer checks for the local PCT.
