The Hospitals
The United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust comprises nine hospital sites with a total of 1130 beds. The Bristol Royal Infirmary houses the acute medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and critical care services; obstetrics, gynaecology and ENT are based at St Michaels and The Bristol Childrens Hospital is the only dedicated childrens hospital within the region. The other hospitals include The Eye Hospital, Homeopathics, The Haematology and Oncology Centre, Bristol General, Keynsham and the Dental Hospital.
The Laboratory
The laboratory operates a full service Monday to Friday 9-5.30 and otherwise an out-of hours service with on-call consultant cover.
